MMMmmmm.... Exotic Chinese Meat.....

BBQ last week. Here’s SME with Tennessee

Cliff waiting for his brats to cook.

Karli. I didn’t use a fish eye lense. The door is just that warped...

Mike. I hear he’s sick. So, wish him well.

Nothing is better than Shrimp, Fish & Shrimp that was once lost and now found...

A typical Chicago corner.

Megan and I were working on our bikes and my neighbor, Junior, decided to come out and work on his bike as well.

Junior smiling

Junior giving the Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson look

Megan all gussied up for biking around town. It was, by far, the healthiest day of my life.

The Boat House in Humboldt Park. Be sure to look for it in the upcoming movie Humboldt Park.

Megan looking over the vast expanse of the park

Checker board in Wicker Park where we ate our all-natural sandwiches. I told you it was the healthiest day of my life.

People enjoying Wicker Park on a warm sunny day

Me and my Choppers.

Looking good

Megan looking for new and trendy ways to wear a helmet. Look for hipsters and other trendy folk to be doing this soon!

Nice graffiti

A Sun Bear at the Lincoln Park Zoo

Some kind of reindeer

The Lion was pretty active that day.

This is the place I’ll go the next time I need my "Foreing" car fixed

Brent, Angela, and Evan hosted the BBQ at their place last night. Angela just got back from China a little bit ago. It sounds like an interesting place. She could tell you a lot more about it than I can. So, go ask her...

MMMMmmmm.... Grilled meat....

Angela brought back lots of exotic meat from China. No one was quite sure what it was since it was all written in Chinese. But, some guesses included: chicken liver, turkey knuckles, spicy tofu, and chicken feet...

Some girl at the world’s coldest fire. For some reason, this fire gave off absolutely no heat. Cliff actually put his hand halfway into the flame and still said "It’s still not hot!"

That’s about it. Bubba (Brandon) (Fellow Muskegon Exile living in Chicago) is having an improv show tonight at Second City. If you are interested in going, give me a call by 3pm so I can try to get some tickets. The show starts at 10:30pm. My number is 773.241.4599

Humboldt Park: The Movie

They are filming a movie in my neighborhood. Here's the article:

"There's no shortage of movies shot in town, but it's rare that one has its heart rooted as squarely in the city as the forthcoming 'Humboldt Park.' Produced by local-boys-made-good Robert Teitel and George Tillman, Jr., of State Street Pictures--which has also produced such films as 'Soul Food,' 'Men of Honor' and 'Barber Shop'--'Humboldt Park' ups the local love factor by bringing in Humboldt Park native Freddy Rodriguez to star, and will be shot entirely in the neighborhood starting this month. That's enough to make us want to go see it already, but, for those who need more: Directed by Alfredo De Villa (Washington Heights), the comedy-drama tells the story of a first- and-second- generation Puerto Rican-American family as the various members return home for the holidays to Humboldt Park and, like many of us, work on sorting out their functionally dysfunctional lives. Rodriguez plays a Marine with a heart of gold returning from a tour in Iraq while John Leguizamo has signed on to play his go-get-'em Manhattan-lawyer brother. While the film promises to entertain and is filled with laughs, it's not all fun and games, as one question it poses is: What happens when the family you thought you could always fall back on begins to change? Even Chicagoans will have to wait and see.

Megan and Noah contemplating Scrabble

FRANCES! I CHALLENGE YOUR USE OF THE WORD "TRON!!!!"

Noah, Frances, and Megan understand that drinking makes Scrabble interesting

Noah changes things up with Chutes and Ladders.

Katherine, our Georgia Peach, is excited about snow and we gave he instructions on how to build a proper snowman at Goldies.

Nick throws the best Halloween parties. Too bad I showed up fully dressed the day after...

"Shoot A Pickle!"

Howdy Y'all!

The Hibarito from Baranquen on California and Wabansia. "Hibarito" translates into "hillbilly." I guess in Puerto Rico, people are so poor on the interior of the island that they can't afford bread. But, they have more plantains then you can imagine. So, they crush and fry plantains and use that as bread instead. Super good. Super unhealthy...

Going back home after seeing "American Gangster" in Oak Park with the free movie tickets Megan won. I still have to use my tea party I won...

Good Stuff House. Says it all.

It's been a few years since I've seen real snow that sticks around. It feels like home.

Richmond Street.

Cleaning off Saaby-McSaaberton.

The "One of a Kind Show" at the Merchandise Mart. Pretty much an indoor arts fair. There was some pretty good stuff and lots of good food samples for the holidays.

The Merchandise Mart convention atrium.

Christkindlmarket in Daley Plaza. This is an annual German Christmas market that sells all kinds of toys and trinkets along with brats and hot spiced wine.

Nick got his x-mas gift of a Nintendo Wii early. So, that means you'll see everyone punching each other by accident playing video games and the Murder House from now on.

Megan simulating fishing

Nick with the remote controlled x-mas tree behind him

Megan trying to figure out how to play a game where you have to match up people's poses...

That's about it for now. Noah and Frances, you will see pics from the party last night next time. I had these edited before we left and didn't feel like adding more...

Mike
