There's nothing better than gathering around the table for a evening of healthy competition.  We groan at our bad luck with the dice.  And there's so much laughter when things take an unexpected turn.  No matter who wins, at the end of the night we're all a little bit closer after quality time together.  What are your family's favorite board game?

Staghorn Cliffs at Cora Kampfe Dickinson Conservation Area on Skaneateles Lake

Paddling along Skaneateles Lake's shore, the water barely makes a noise as our kayaks cut through.  We stop at Staghorn Cliffs to relax, snack on trail mix, and enjoy a Riesling grown and bottled on the other side of the lake.  Our conversation drifts in and out of seriousness.  We scan the shore for fossils and trying to absorb nature's relaxation.  We're very fortunate to have this gift.

How do you see our land?  Is it just real estate, food source, something to mine, home, or part of your identity?  How do you treat it?  What is good for the land is good for us.

This painting would look best in an average space that is red, yellow, orange, green, dark blue, white, black, grey, beige, or wood.

Where this path will end is a mystery.  The trees rustle in the breeze stirring up the aromas of the forest. A freshness one always has to remind themselves of in civilization. The light refracts in strange ways at this time. It's when the surreal becomes the real.

Is there a place you go to relax?  Is it wide-open or cozy?  What do you see, hear, smell, and feel when you are there?  Is it a place where you can be by yourself?  What about it makes you feel good?

The shallow waters of Honeoye Lake felt warm for such a brisk morning.  My rowboat lazily bobbing on the gentle waves.  I watch the sun gradually rise in the sky only interrupted by the occasional perch, bass, or walleye tugging on the fishing line.  At noon, I haul my boat ashore to fry my catch-of-the-day.  If this isn't nice, what is?

How do you connect with nature?  What did you enjoy doing outside during your youth?  Do you still enjoy it and why?

This painting would look best in an average space that is red, yellow, orange, green, dark blue, white, black, grey, beige, or wood.

We hike this land that took care of the Haudenosaunee for countless generations.  The settlers arrived and ripped out the living forest and it still nurtured their farms.  And now we preserve this land so it can heal.  A place for bald eagles and other water fowl to nest.  To improve access and water quality of the lake.  It is a gift that gives back to us.

Do you love nature?  What has it given you?  What do we lose if it's gone?  Can you imagine if nature loved you back and what that would look like?
