HAPPY SCOUT-IVERSARY!

Can't believe we've had Scout for two years already.  And how cold it's getting already too. We're all wearing our coats at Corbett's Glen.

No Salmon?!?!

CELEBRATIONS!

It's been a while since I've posted a "regular blog."  I've been pretty busy lately.  But, I've finished a bunch of work and wanted to show I'm doing more than painting like a maniac...
Megan brought me out to Sticky Lips BBQ (http://stickylipsbbq.com/stickylips/) for my birthday dinner.  The ribs and sides were excellent.  I think the best I've had it town.  But Megan's brisket was beyond amazing and was three days worth of meals!

Megan's sampler platter.

Man, I want to eat this again.  This place always has a line (except when your birthday falls on a Monday that is also a holiday).  No wonder it took about four years to get in.

I'm not the only artist in the family.   This is a portrait my niece did of herself, the twins, and the dog Bella.  I'm still trying to convince Rachel that I should represent her...

And if you didn't already know, I have a new niece and nephew:  Alyssa and Nolan.  They are super tiny and about a month old now.

And we've had Scout for one year now.  Here she is with Megan last year...

And here's the goofy mutt now.

A non-cooperating puppy from a year ago...

And the uncooperative puppy of now.

Scout and I last year...

And the big moose of today.

Hiking through the fall foliage in Corbett's Glen.

We were too late (again) to see the salmon running the creek.  But, it's always a nice quick hike near our house.

That's it for now.  Better get back to work...

Our New Dog Scout

Here's our new puppy, Scout.  She's a nine week old Lab/Terrier/Shepherd/Squirrel/Kangaroo/Meerkat mix.

And, especially for Katie, here's a puppy photo extravaganza!

She has a quick and sneaky tongue (Scout, not Megan)...

She's a pretty calm dog unless you release her from her crate.  Then she's a blur.

 Belly scratchin'!

She will do everything in her power to be in your lap at all times.

Pose...  Pose...  Sneak attack!

 Licking the ears.

STOOOOOOP!!!

That's a fur baby photo montage...

APPLE PICKING UPDATE:  Per my last blog, we went apple picking.  Therefore, Megan's been on an apple food marathon.  Here is apple cake, which is a great substitute for every meal.

Mmmmm...  Baked apple

That's it.  I'm going to bother our dog now...

Another Lollypop Construction Update

The walls are going up fast for the new training center

A lot of work to go as you can tell by the sheer amount of cinder blocks around

Crisp fall day with the trees changing color behind the new animal clinic.

And, the trees haven't quite changed color or the salmon start to swim up the falls at Corbett's Glen

The trees around Allen's Creek are about to change.  Hopefully, it will be better than last year when they were about to change and then a severe windstorm knocked all the leaves off.  It went from summer to instant winter.  Then, there was no snow.  Last year was weird.
That's it from here.

Salmon or Sal Bass? He just substituted one fish for another!

Here's Rachel in her impromptu straightjacket.

Tops Grocery isn't know for their exotic food.  Kiwano Melon?  It tastes like cucumber, banana and lime?  Jelly texture?

Finally got to see the salmon spawning.  It was really awesome.  Giant fish swimming upstream and jumping up the waterfalls.  It was just like those nature shows except for the grizzly bears trying to catch them.  That's Rich in one of the many "Hudson River School" photos I've taken since moving to Rochester.

Somewhere in there is a giant salmon...

Photobucket
And, a salmon is about to jump or already jumped.  What lame photos for such a cool event...

WhatchaGotCookin? Eats! on the Erie Canal in Fairport.  We had a donor event there last Saturday that was a lot of fun with lots of great food.  Megan and I walked by last summer (on our epic walk from Pittsford-Fairport and back) and thought it would be good.  We were right

Yesterday was an epic "Cleaning Day."  So, we cleaned everything and rearranged the whole office.  Now, I can see everyone instead of starring at the wall.  It really has changed my worldview

That's about it.
