LAST DAY!
The GRATEFUL ART FESTIVAL!!!
We're going to have a lot of fun at:

Mike Kraus was born on the industrial shoreline of Muskegon, Michigan. After earning his Fine Arts Degree from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, he attended Grand Valley State University for his graduate degree. From there, he gained varied experiences from the Chicago Architecture Foundation, Art Institute of Chicago, Hauenstein Center For Presidential Studies, Lollypop Farm Humane Society, and the Children's Memorial Foundation. And every place he worked, he had his sketchbook with him and found ways to be actively creative. In 2014, Kraus became a full-time artist by establishing Mike Kraus Art. Since then, he has sold thousands of paintings that are displayed in nearly every state and dozens of countries. Currently, Kraus lives in Rochester, New York with his beautiful wife and goofy dog.

Our New Dog Scout

Here's our new puppy, Scout.  She's a nine week old Lab/Terrier/Shepherd/Squirrel/Kangaroo/Meerkat mix.

And, especially for Katie, here's a puppy photo extravaganza!

She has a quick and sneaky tongue (Scout, not Megan)...

She's a pretty calm dog unless you release her from her crate.  Then she's a blur.

 Belly scratchin'!

She will do everything in her power to be in your lap at all times.

Pose...  Pose...  Sneak attack!

 Licking the ears.

STOOOOOOP!!!

Megan and Scout at Corbett's Glen watching the salmon.

That's a fur baby photo montage...

Fishermen at Corbett's Glen.  The guy on the left is lugging around a giant salmon.

APPLE PICKING UPDATE:  Per my last blog, we went apple picking.  Therefore, Megan's been on an apple food marathon.  Here is apple cake, which is a great substitute for every meal.

Mmmmm...  Baked apple

That's it.  I'm going to bother our dog now...

I Got Apples!

It doesn't get more Upstate New York than this: apple picking.  Headed over to the Apple Farm (https://www.thevictorapplefarm.com/) in Victor for a bag of apples, apple donuts, and other products in what is becoming a Columbus Day tradition.

 How 'bout dem apples?

The rain earlier in the day made all the apples look idyllic.  It also made my sneakers into a portable swamp.  You win some; you lose some...

Ground apples...

An old barn on the property.

Megan finding the perfect Golden Delicious apples

"I can make baked apples, apple pie, apple cake, apple sauce, apple butter, apple muffins, apple juice, apple glazed chicken, apple pork chops, candy apples, apple crisp, apple strudel, apple cobbler, apple fritters..."

The foliage is getting to be near peak.  Just another week or so.

More apples!

Also a Columbus Day tradition: Bernardo's (http://www.bernardospizza.com/) for a post-apple picking lunch.

May I suggest the Chicken Pesto Pizza Special?  By far the best slices of pizza ever.  I probably could of had a whole pie to myself.

MOMBUS2

That's all I got for this week.  See you on the flippy-flip (miss no-look basketball shot over my shoulder).

When we made this walk last year for the Bills vs. Lions (a.k.a. Loser Bowl 2010 where they both tried to lose) we made this walk alone.  Amazing what a few wins can do!

Photobucket
I am now aware of breast cancer because I have seen so much pink.

Photobucket
Skydivers!  I think they jumped about 5 minutes early because he had the flag and all, but there was no national anthem.  They were talking about fan conduct or something on the PA and then he came onto the field.

Photobucket
The skydiver with the Bills flag missed the mark and crash landed.  Still, no national anthem...

Michael Vick about to have a really bad game.  Or as one sign read, "Awaiting a con-Vick-tion."

Photobucket
I'm not only a member of the Rochester Chapter of the Ruvell Martin Fan Club, but I'm also the president.  If you don't know who he is, he's the 5th wide receiver for the Bills and we went to the same high school in Muskegon, MI.  The last player I championed was Kyle Orton who later went on to QB both the Bears and Broncos until last weekend.

Photobucket
It's not the first soldout Bills game I've been to, but it is the first one where people were actually in their seats watching the game and cheering.  Also, the first one I've attended that wasn't during a snow/rain mixture.

Photobucket
I hope it wasn't a long drive

Where's the camera stick!

Fall in Upstate New York.

Macoun or Cortland?  What am I, the scarecrow from Wizard of Oz?

Photobucket
Eve in Paradise picking apples.  Luckily for me, this Eve is really afraid of snakes.  We saw two this weekend and she almost had a heart attack.

Photobucket
Apples by the bunches!

Photobucket
It's like living in a painting sometimes

Photobucket
Some kind of amazing tree.

Photobucket
So many apple trees.

Photobucket

Photobucket
This tree is struggling to hold all of them apples!

Bernardo's Pizza and Subs for lunch in Victor.  The pizza was really good and I'll have to get a sub the next time we're there because they looked awesome.  A great deal with huge portions.  The retro decor is amazing and I could look at all the old radios for hours.

Photobucket
Still no salmon in the Irondequoit Creek.  None in Corbett's Glen either.  Last year, I missed seeing all the salmon coming up to spawn.  Now, it appears I'm too early.  If you see them jumping, let me know ASAP.  I can be at the creek in a matter of minutes!
