HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

 Brightscapes: The Way To Beauty

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

This time of year is about relaxation, gratitude, and creating new traditions.  If you're like me you'll lazily start the day by watching the parade, Zoom with some family and friends, enjoy a couple online games, eat a little too much, a short hike to burn off the calories, and crash on the couch to watch Planes, Trains, and Automobiles.

Most of all, I'm grateful for you.  Your kindness and support is so appreciated.  And I hope you and your loved ones are all safe, entertained, creative, and healthy.
THANK YOU and have a wonderful holiday season!

We're All In This Together,
Mike Kraus

Having a Fun Mother's Day

Brightscapes: The Way To Beauty

It's a good feeling to know that love connects a mother and child no matter how great the distance.  While we won't get to celebrate Mother's Day together, our temporary physical separation will overwhelm our timeless affection for each other.  This will be the start of new traditions: watching movies together (Netflix Party), decorate mom's front door/yard, or magical travel using Zoom virtual backgrounds.  Be creative!  Have a great Mother’s Day. AND REMEMBER TO HAVE FUN!

Stay Safe and Wash Your Hands,
Mike Kraus

The Morning Cup of Coffee

With sunrise at 5:29 AM, how am I expected to get any sleep?  Ugh.  I stammer out of bed to perform my usual morning routine of letting the dog out and all.  My bones ache.  I load up the coffeemaker with grounds and water.  It gurgles and puffs.  A steady stream trickling into the pot.  A mug full of caffeine to keep me awake during the day.

This piece would work in a space that is light red, light orange, yellow, green, blue, light yellow, purple, black, white, wood, grey, or a neutral beige

He was a toddler when he arrived in America as refugee of the Irish Potato Famine.  Centuries of oppression left his family uneducated, poor, and starving in their own country.  Growing up in the tenements and prejudice of New York City left him wanting more as a young man.  And when he saw a flyer offering him work in Nebraska on the Transcontinental Railroad he took his opportunity.  After several years of living in tents and backbreaking work, he ended up in a southern Omaha tenement built on an "uninviting floodplain."  He still wanted more.  With hard work and shrewd dealing, he was able to obtain a farm.  Soon after, he was married and had several children that added to the success of that farm.  Looking back on his life, he saw himself as being fortunate to escape the peasant life of the privileged monarchy, the toil of being an immigrant, and to raise a family on his own land.  To show his gratitude, he joined with other nearby farmers in 1883 to construct this humble church.  Sacred ground to the American experience and a reminder of who we are as a nation.

IT'S CYBER WEEK!  Get up to 40% OFF now!

This time of year always brings a bit of nostalgia.  Visiting dad on the holidays.  My brother tinkering with the neglected grill when my sister rolled up on her bike; smirking.  That house is special to our family.  Special because of the people that are in it.

I count my breaths as I enter the woods.  It calms my thoughts and helps me to relax.  The chaos and cravings of the world evaporate with every step.  If you're fortunate enough to find the mysterious pass, then you enter into paradise.  This is the magic of the forest.

This painting would look best in a small-to-medium space that is red, orange, yellow, green, dark blue, purple, white, black, grey, beige, or wood.

Our jeep rumbles out of the bushland jungle.  The vehicle bounces down the dirt road and slows down for darting lemurs.  The sky is lighting up as we make our way back to the hotel after a day of sightseeing.  As we come up to a narrow curve, we come to a near stop.  When I look up, I see the magic of Africa.

This painting would great in a small space that is dark red, green, blue, purple, black, white, gray, beige, or wood.

Cozy Up To These

Brightscapes: The Way To Beauty

Summer always seems to come to an abrupt end.  We dig in our closets for comfy sweatshirts and pull our blankets on the couch as hot days turn into cool nights.  We hike through the woods seeing the forest put on a light show of yellows, oranges, and reds.  And we watch the animals as they scurry around making their preparations for winter.  Hopefully, your home is a cozy place that reflects you and your loved ones.  A sanctuary to share cocoa and laughter on chilly evenings.  And a furry family member to snuggle while binge watching TV.

Your Friend,

Mike Kraus
