Megan's Birthday Blowout!

Photobucket
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MEGAN!  She thinks she's so clever because she blew out the candles without letting me capture it.

Photobucket
You can tell by the look in her eye...

Photobucket
What do you do when it's cold and rainy on your birthday?  Go to the STRONG MUSEUM OF PLAY! http://www.museumofplay.org/

Photobucket
Did Rachel get really tall or did Megan shrink in her old age?

Photobucket
My favorite action figure.  His name was something like "Johnny No Hands."  I like that you can give him hands, hooks, or a toilet plunger...

Photobucket
Wait, Ghandi action figure is now my favorite toy.  Nothing like pretending to fast to beat the British

Photobucket
Serious business

Photobucket
The mini-Wegman's grocery store is a hit with the kids.  Maybe after a couple more visits, I can get Tachel to pick out the items I like and grocery shop for me instead...

Photobucket
Hosting a cooking show

Photobucket
Mmmmm...  Delicious!

Photobucket
Now flying a helicopter

Photobucket
I don't know who most of these kids are.  Maybe one of them is the one I said "Happy Birthday" to and he responded "Who is this?  What are you talking about?" while on a can phone.  I guess that wasn't the phone Megan was on.

Photobucket
"Tornados" an original play by Rachel Lee Dork.

Photobucket
Man, it's hard to get a cab in Sesame Street.  As you can tell, we get in a lot of trouble.  And, don't remind Megan about me blowing a spit wad at a neighboring table accidently at a local diner not long after this...

Photobucket

Photobucket
It's either the Giant from Jack and the Bean Stalk or Andre the Giant Angel.  I forget...

Photobucket
Rachel and Rich in the fairy tale house

Photobucket
The Berenstain Bears.  A favorite of mine growing up and surprised kids even know what they are.

Photobucket
TO THE NERD ROOM!

Photobucket
Megan vs. Donkey Kong

Photobucket
Rich remembering when they had these at the 7-11

Photobucket
People Magazine isn't something I expected to find at a Toy Museum, but whatever.  The cover story is still relevant today, I guess...

Photobucket
Megan Bell Doll

Photobucket
YIKES!  No wonder I haven't slept well since the museum

Photobucket
Tachel and the Bear

Photobucket
Megan and I along the Genesee River.  No pics of when we went to the Memorial Art Gallery since you can't take photos of the art inside.  Some interesting stuff though.  The upstairs was pretty amazing.  Went to a few restaurants.  Made chips and cheese and drank margaritas while trying to hook up the DVD player to the internet.  I'm sure we'll figure that out.

Photobucket
Flight Wine Bar in the Corn Hill Neighborhood of Rochester.  Pretty swanky place.  The wine was very good (and I'm not a wine drinker).

Photobucket
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MEGAN!  I hope you had a good birthday weekend despite losing your car for about a week (and counting) and not getting the latest Harry Potter movie!!!

Photobucket
A few pieces of other business.  Man, look how sunny it was when we went to What's Ur Scoop?  Remember what the sun looked like?  There was a time when it didn't rain in Rochester.

Photobucket
Nothing like hanging out at Lollypop Farm waiting for a food delivery and hanging out with a horse until it comes.

Photobucket
United Way's Day of Caring volunteers from a bunch of organizations like Xerox, Rochester Institute of Technology, and many others who came out and worked very hard on Lollypop Farm's landscaping.  Looks great and smelled like fresh cut grass for quite a while!

That's it for now.  Just waiting to see if Megan will ever get her car back.  The gas sensor failed and the headlights just stopped working.  It didn't seem like big issues, but we're still without a car and no one seems to know how to get the headlights to work without setting the car on fire (add a fuse box to the tab).  I remember why I decided to stop owning a car again...

Nick showing off his hula-hooping skills on the Wii Fit. This would be far better if I had a video of him. I guess there's tons of those kinds of videos with girls on YouTube. God Bless YouTube...

The first streetfair I'll feature is Puerto Rican Days in my neighborhood. A festival for the overworked and underpaid. It's a decent time with a carnaval, art fair, music, and great Puerto Rican food.

A shot of the art fair portion from a distance...

Angela tending to her new garden. There's spinach, carrots, tomatoes, and many other veggies for the BBQ

Karli, Andy (looking good), Rosie, Tennessee, and Mike Nummerdor at Wednesday BBQ

Noah, SME, and Nick at the BBQ

Gracie, Tennessee, Brent, and Katie at the BBQ

You crazy hipsters riding modern versions of the old fashion bikes with the bike wheel in front and little wheel in back...

Here's the second streetfair I'll feature this week. It's the Old Town/Wells Street Art Fair. It's for the overpaid and underworked of Chicago. Favorite quote of the day: "The economy is getting really bad. I mean, I can't take cabs everywhere I want anymore. But, now that I know that the train station is by my house I take that. You wouldn't believe how much cheaper it is to take the train than it is to buy gas and pay for parking and all." from Paris Hilton-esque qirl. (for those who live outside of Chicago, trains are $1.75, gas is $4.50, parking is generally $20+).

Cool shot. Not sure why they all have white shirts on. Must be a wealthy version of a gang.

This is the crowd listening to Flock of Seagulls. The stage was set up in a terrible location. It was in a small parking lot behind a bar. So, we couldn't even get back to see the band because there were so many people. But, I certainly heard the rock!!!

See if you can spot the happiest girl at the fair!

Strange bug I found at the Sedgewick Brown Line stop.

Ronan’s Party - Round 2 + 1 Pizza Party

Thanks to Ronan for the invite to his x-mas party. It was a lot of fun.

Thanks to everyone for coming to Ronan's x-mas party. You made it lots of fun.

Megan having some of the juice mixture. Also, everyone should tell her "congratulations on your promotion!" She's now a Program Manager (? - Manager of some kind) at AIAChicago.

Frances on the same juice mixture.

Noah's shirt really isn't as crazy as my camera makes it appear...

Lush...

SME - Queen of the Coat Pile

Nothing is more embarrassing than showing up to a party and someone is wearing the same outfit...

Okay, here's the real picture of Ronan (party host), Nick (roommate), Megan (girlfriend), and Cliff (friend).

Karli and SME. Karli really made the party by bringing one of the 30 bottles of Apple Pie from the fridge.

Typical. I think Frances and I have taken about 1,000 variations of this picture since I got my digital camera a couple years ago.

Part of Karli, SME, Mike, John(?), Matt, & Matt.

This picture about sums it up. Ronan had a work party that moved to his house and he stole about 80 lbs. of chicken. Sorry Mike...

Party remains

Megan, Tyler, and Mike. Notice Megan's ninja moves as she leans out of the way of Tyler thrusting his beer.

Chicago Cultural Center dome restoration. All the Tiffany Glass has been removed for fixin' up. So, it will be another 100 years before you'll see it like this again.

If I sent out x-mas cards, this would be the image. So, Happy x-mas! I took this on Eastwood just west of Kedzie. I was over there because I found some girls purse on the train and returned it to her. It was a X-mas miracle (for her) and a good deed of the day (for me).

PIZZA PARTY!!!!

Karli showing Nick, SME, and the rest of us how to bowl on the Wii. 236 points, Karli! Are you serious?

Andrew, Katie (behind Andrew), Karli, and Nick.

This is what pizza parties are all about.

A couple of the many pizzas killed that night in 2007. It was a dark day for slices...

Andrew's new MySpace photo. I like to think in 300 years art critics will look back to the early days of the internet revolution and say "he was a great artist for the medium of his time." Most likely, they'll say, "this jerk wasted too much time on the computer..."

More Wii action after Jackass 2.5 and YouTube on the big screen TV.

Noah (hand w/ beer), Andrew, Katie, Tennessee, Angela, Brent, and Gracie!

That's about it. I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas or whatever you celebrate. I'm going to New York for the holidays. If you happen to be watching the Bills/Giant game on Sunday, look for me in the crowd.

xoxo,
Mike
