So Much Fun In October!

Brightscapes: The Way To Beauty

There's so much happening in October, it's difficult to know where to start.

October 12-14, my work will be featured at the Coffee Art Project (http://coffeeartproject.com/About) as a part of the New York Coffee Festival (https://www.newyorkcoffeefestival.com).  The Coffee Art Project supports Project Waterfall, which is committed to bringing clean water to communities which grow coffee.  So far, Project Waterfall has raised more than $1 million and delivered clean water to over 27,000 people in Tanzania, Rwanda, Ethiopia and Nicaragua in partnership with WaterAid, Charity: Water, and Water for People.

October 10-14, see my wife, Megan Bell, as Stella Kowalski in A Streetcar Named Desire.  A play by Tennessee Williams, this renowned drama follows troubled former schoolteacher Blanche DuBois as she leaves small-town Mississippi and moves in with her sister, Stella Kowalski, and her husband, Stanley, in New Orleans. Blanche's flirtatious Southern-belle presence causes problems for Stella and Stanley, who already have a volatile relationship, leading to even greater conflict in the Kowalski household.  Purchase tickets at: https://www.muccc.org/events/screen-plays-presents-a-streetcar-named-desire

In early November, I will be having a show at Books Etc. (https://www.facebook.com/booksetcmacedon/).  Watch for updates soon!

Unfortunately, I was one of the 50+ million victims of the latest Facebook hack and I'm unable to log in to my account.  I apologize if I haven't responded to your messages because of this issue.  If you need anything, please feel free to contact me by email or on another social media platform listed below.

Mike Kraus was born on the industrial shoreline of Muskegon, Michigan. After earning his Fine Arts Degree from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, he attended Grand Valley State University for his graduate degree. From there, he gained varied experiences from the Chicago Architecture Foundation, Art Institute of Chicago, Hauenstein Center For Presidential Studies, Lollypop Farm Humane Society, and the Children's Memorial Foundation. And every place he worked, he had his sketchbook with him and found ways to be actively creative. In 2014, Kraus became a full-time artist by establishing Mike Kraus Art. Since then, he has sold hundreds of paintings that are displayed in nearly every state and dozens of countries. Currently, Kraus lives in Rochester, New York with his beautiful wife and goofy dog.

Our New Dog Scout

Here's our new puppy, Scout.  She's a nine week old Lab/Terrier/Shepherd/Squirrel/Kangaroo/Meerkat mix.

And, especially for Katie, here's a puppy photo extravaganza!

She has a quick and sneaky tongue (Scout, not Megan)...

She's a pretty calm dog unless you release her from her crate.  Then she's a blur.

 Belly scratchin'!

She will do everything in her power to be in your lap at all times.

Pose...  Pose...  Sneak attack!

 Licking the ears.

STOOOOOOP!!!

Megan and Scout at Corbett's Glen watching the salmon.

That's a fur baby photo montage...

Fishermen at Corbett's Glen.  The guy on the left is lugging around a giant salmon.

APPLE PICKING UPDATE:  Per my last blog, we went apple picking.  Therefore, Megan's been on an apple food marathon.  Here is apple cake, which is a great substitute for every meal.

Mmmmm...  Baked apple

That's it.  I'm going to bother our dog now...

Megan and I got to watch Gertie this past weekend and it was apparently the only thing of interest.  Therefore, this blog is dedicated to a Yorkie that took over my life for a few days.

Photobucket
Try as you might, you will never shake free from Megan's grip!

Gertie visits Lollypop Farm.  I don't think Gertie has ever seen a cat before.  At least, she didn't act like she knew what a cat was.  This was about as close as she would get.  Otherwise, she would hide under my desk.

Gertie and Neville.  It's not often that Gertie is the big dog in the room

Rough day at work.  Friday couldn't come soon enough.  Good thing it's 5:30...

That's it until Labor Day!  Again, if you want to help the animals of the Greater Rochester area, please support me at Barktober Fest 2011 at: http://lollypop.kintera.org/barktoberfest/mike

Who's that dog with Megan?  It's Barbie!  Who's Barbie?  Just another lap dog that loves Megan.  It must be a sign...

Why was I at a baseball game?  FREE TICKETS, FREE FOOD, FREE DRINKS! FREE BEER!  FREE STOMACH ACHE AFTER THE GAME!!!  So very worth it!

Photobucket
If there's one thing I've learned about Rochester, it is that they love bounce houses!
