For the Best Coverage of Minor League Sports

Photobucket
Lancer Louie is Megan's favorite mascot because he is a sharp dresser in his tux.

Photobucket
More evidence that Rochester is crazy about their bounce houses.

Photobucket
Foodlink's Cool Can made the honorary "first kick" of the game.  And notice, he's not wearing a tux for such an occasion...

Photobucket
Indoor soccer is kind of interesting because it's a lot like basketball and hockey.  Things like three point shots and power plays.

Photobucket
THANKS MEGAN!  Now my xmas is officially over.  And, in their first season, the Lancers are in the playoffs.

Photobucket
I use to think people in Michigan were overly impressed with cars and highways.  But, this shrine to the Madonna of the Highways at St. Mary's is a little over the top.  Although, when you ask Rochesterians "what's the best thing about living here" many times they will say "you can get anywhere in 15 minutes!"

Occupy Rochester in Washington Square Park.  I have to admit that I'm naive about what they are doing, but they do entice me with camping

Football Season's Over. So, Now What Do I Do?

Photobucket
Amerks vs. the Abbottsford Heat.  Rochester lost 3-2 in overtime.  A very, very short overtime...  At least Moose was there.

Photobucket
Faceoff which was immediately followed by a fight.

Photobucket
Geez Louise making Gertie nervous at the office.

Photobucket
She may be a cat; not a dog...

Photobucket
After a rough day at the office with all the cats and big dogs, she likes to steal my snuggie and curl up on the top of our couch.  Stop stealing my stuff...

Photobucket
So, this manure spreader at work is on its last legs.  It needs to be replaced and we have no money in the budget.  Any suggestions?  There's a lifetime supply of cookies on the line!

New Years Eve With the Razorsharks

Photobucket
As part of my xmas present, Megan brought me to my first Rochester Razorshark minor league basketball game at the Blue Cross Arena.  Please let me introduce you to Finley, the Razorshark.

More Finley

Photobucket
Oh man!  My first Razorshark game is also a banner raising ceremony!  Now I can tell my kids that I was there when it all happened!

Photobucket
The banner!

Photobucket
Unfortunately, this ladie's half-court shot for $10,000 barely made it to the free throw line.

Photobucket
The Razorsharks beat the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Steamers 107-98 in the 2012 championship banner raising home opener.  Megan and I had a great time.  Lots of great people watching.  For some reason, the pictures didn't turn out very good.  Hopefully, my next Blue Cross Arena event will look much better next week...

Photobucket
Well, winter started about three months later than it did last year.  Hopefully, this doesn't mean that it will ending in August to make up for lost time.

That's about it for now.  Very, very busy at work right now catching up on everything with the holiday season.  So, nothing too exciting to report...

Billy the Bill Will Take Over For Maybin At Linebacker And Already Has More Sacks

Photobucket
At first, you laugh because why would anyone want Billy the Bill mascot's autograph.  Then you realize, he was their best draft pick since 1983...

Photobucket
The Buffalo Bills have their training camp at St. John Fisher College, which is just down the road from us.

Photobucket
So, how bad are the Bills going to be this year?  Improving, but still Detroit Lions bad.

Photobucket

Photobucket
Panorama of players that will soon be on the practice squad

Photobucket
Sadly, the special teams are the highlight.  Important, but still sad...

Photobucket
Neville!  Get better and find a home.  I guess he has a throat problem, which is why he got sick in surgery and then got pneumonia.  That doesn't explain why he likes to poop under my desk...

Photobucket
This is in my job description...

Photobucket
East End Fest in downtown Rochester.  "Haven't heard a Sponge song in a while.  Another cover?  Who sings this song; 3-11?  I don't know, it might be Creed.  I'll look it up on my phone.  It's Sponge...  These guys must really like Sponge...  (time passes)  Wait, these guys are Sponge."

Photobucket
"The Push-Up Girls and one buff dude."  I thought girls in camouflage bikinis were the National Guards latest attempt to get kids to sign up for the military since they were by their tent.  But, I guess they were for some gym.  I wish it were the National Guard...

The local cover band Sponge opened up for.  Seriously, who is their manager?

Photobucket
Thousand Acre Swamp nature preserve in Penfield

Photobucket
This is a pretty weird little swamp.  All sorts of interesting plants, bugs, animals, and all.

The boardwalk through the reeds and cattails

Photobucket
great trail names

Photobucket
Eery woods with creepy trees.  As local lore states, a hermit use to live in these woods.  Probably still does...

Photobucket
Red dragonfly

Photobucket
This is from the part of the woods where many trees looked like this.  It was a pretty interesting place and the photos do not do it justice.

And Now For Some Hockey

Photobucket
THANKS TO DICK SR. FOR THE TICKETS!  Megan and I were able to see the Buffalo Sabres play the Detroit Red Wings.  It was a really good game and awesome seats!

Nacho Grande.  If you're going to get nachos, you have to get "grande" with chicken and chili. My father-in-law may think I have a hollow leg, but there was no way I could finish these.  I have met my limit...

Photobucket
Pavel Datsyuk scored along with Jiri Hudler with under a minute left in the game to force an overtime and a shootout!

The celebration

Got about 8 inches of snow the other day.  Here's the driveway of my apartment right after work.

What would a job of mine be without a telethon?  Saturday March 5th from 3-9pm, we'll be on 13 WHAM TV in Rochester broadcasting live from the Eastview Mall.  So, tune in or come on out!  Don't get 13 WHAM outside of Rochester; their will be a link to streaming video on our website: www.Lollypop.org.  So, donate early; donate often!!!
