Our bikes race up and down the gentle hills of Provence.  Everything has a distinct texture, the colors are vibrant, and the perfume in the air is intoxicating.  And every twisting road we turn down has countless rows of purple and blue lavender.  The heat of the Mediterranean sun presses against our backs as we pedal back to the village of Sault.  I'll never forget the fields of France.

How do we want to remember this summer?  There are only so many hours of sunlight.  Not nearly enough warm nights for sunsets.  And very few minutes of counting shooting stars while making s'mores.  What about summer makes you happy? 

Art is about capturing the moments and emotions of today.  When we see a painting on our walls it allows us to reminisce about those feelings.  It tells others who we are and want to be. On the left bank of the Rhône River nestles the city of Avignon.  A slight bend in the river that has been a destination for the Greeks, Romans, Popes, and countless others.  And the Pont d'Avignon (the Pont Saint-Bénézet) is the last of many bridges trying to reach the other side.  Previous attempts have been destroyed in war, ruined by floods, or doomed to failure by poor engineering.  But what it lacks in function, it excels in adding to the beauty of a marvelous city.

It's the perfect day at the beach.  A hot sun overhead as we wade in the warm water.  The breeze gently pushing the sailboats around the harbor.  We refill our adult sippy cups with rosé and enjoy floating around in the blue waters.  There's an alternating scent of sweet flora and the salty sea.  We've found our paradise.
