Ducks On the Pond. Trout In Left.

Ducks On the Pond.  Trout In Left., 2014

I always have my camera with me to catch these moments.  A few ducks on perfectly blue water with fish just below the surface.  It’s almost abstract and painterly.  Easy to fall into reverie.

Our New Dog Scout

Here's our new puppy, Scout.  She's a nine week old Lab/Terrier/Shepherd/Squirrel/Kangaroo/Meerkat mix.

And, especially for Katie, here's a puppy photo extravaganza!

She has a quick and sneaky tongue (Scout, not Megan)...

She's a pretty calm dog unless you release her from her crate.  Then she's a blur.

 Belly scratchin'!

She will do everything in her power to be in your lap at all times.

Pose...  Pose...  Sneak attack!

 Licking the ears.

STOOOOOOP!!!

Megan and Scout at Corbett's Glen watching the salmon.

That's a fur baby photo montage...

Fishermen at Corbett's Glen.  The guy on the left is lugging around a giant salmon.

APPLE PICKING UPDATE:  Per my last blog, we went apple picking.  Therefore, Megan's been on an apple food marathon.  Here is apple cake, which is a great substitute for every meal.

Mmmmm...  Baked apple

That's it.  I'm going to bother our dog now...

Meet Dave Jr.  Not Really...  Again...  This is Rocky!  The newest addition to the family from Lollypop Farm and Stella's newest roommate.

Here's Rachel and Rocky.  Why Rachel is traveling at the speed of light is unknown...

Fishing for salmon at Linear Park in Penfield.  Looks like a beer commercial...

The world's littlest hamster.  He's only 7 days old...

RABBITS ON THE LOOSE!

How can anyone have a bad day at work when the last thing they see is a dozen rabbits bouncing around?  They don't...

Time for some pizza and Biggest Loser.  Two things that go together beautifully...

Salmon or Sal Bass? He just substituted one fish for another!

Here's Rachel in her impromptu straightjacket.

Tops Grocery isn't know for their exotic food.  Kiwano Melon?  It tastes like cucumber, banana and lime?  Jelly texture?

Photobucket
Finally got to see the salmon spawning.  It was really awesome.  Giant fish swimming upstream and jumping up the waterfalls.  It was just like those nature shows except for the grizzly bears trying to catch them.  That's Rich in one of the many "Hudson River School" photos I've taken since moving to Rochester.

Photobucket
Somewhere in there is a giant salmon...

Photobucket
And, a salmon is about to jump or already jumped.  What lame photos for such a cool event...

WhatchaGotCookin? Eats! on the Erie Canal in Fairport.  We had a donor event there last Saturday that was a lot of fun with lots of great food.  Megan and I walked by last summer (on our epic walk from Pittsford-Fairport and back) and thought it would be good.  We were right

Yesterday was an epic "Cleaning Day."  So, we cleaned everything and rearranged the whole office.  Now, I can see everyone instead of starring at the wall.  It really has changed my worldview

That's about it.

How Many Milestones Can You Cram Into a Week?

My start date at Lollypop Farm, Humane Society of Greater Rochester was moved up a week. So, I've been very, very busy the last few days.  Let's start by giving everyone my new contact information:

And now for the blog!

Then took a shot...

Lemoncello in East Rochester.  Pretty good sandwiches near our apartment where we met up with Sarah and Pete for lunch

If I said this was the craziest thing I saw while looking at open houses this past week I would be lying.  There was lots of great artwork in many homes.  There was one home that had more faux rocks, paneling, and other similar things on the walls than I knew existed.  If only I could have taken pics...

Photobucket
Megan fulfilled a V-Day tradition of mine, which is the February 15th candy buying spree.  If I have kids, they will be very confused when we celebrate x-mas on Dec. 26th, Easter Monday, and so on...

Photobucket
What?  You've never seen a Valentine fish in a tux before?  What means love to you?

Photobucket
My first car.  A 2008 Nissan Versa.  It seems my days of riding public transportation are over.  At least it's bright white and has bike tires...

That's it for now.  Let me know if you need a pet because I know where you find one...
