Daaaf-O-Dillll...

ANGRY CAT!

 photo 100_6073_zps9cfc8064.jpg
Speaking of messes, this is not clutter; it's art.

70 degrees and sunny!  Break out the shorts and sandals, honey.  We're a goin' walkin'!  Here's East Chestnut Street in East Rochester.

 photo 100_6076_zps3780215c.jpg
A sure sign of spring were all the softball and baseball games taking place as East Rochester School.

More baseball, this time at Lyon Park.

There's a pretty interesting neighborhood and the southeastern portion of the village.  It seems the developer was trying to create a modern elf village, which these houses don't appropriately show...  Sorry...

 photo 100_6081_zps8429c49f.jpg
Our first flower at the new house.  Not bad little Daffodil.  When I came home today there were a whole row of these guys ready to pop.  I wonder what else will pop up in our yard?

That's all from Rochester.

APRIL FOOLS!

 photo 100_6034_zps2d398f97.jpg
Seriously, this is the worst April Fools joke ever...

 photo 100_6037_zpsc915c216.jpg
What a weird day for weather.  Half the day sunny and beautiful.  The other half was a blizzard.  In between was whatever this is.

 photo 100_6033_zpsa31acb4e.jpg
It's a good thing Karen didn't see this guy.  Look at his sad little face.  He wants to eat my sandwich so bad.

"Do de do de do...  Wonder what they are going to do in here next?" About 20 minutes later...

"GOODBYE WALL!"  Who knew making a waiting room for admissions would look so destructively fun?  You never know what will be built or demolished when you walk around Lollypop Farm these days.  Kinda fun

 photo 628X471_zps79172018.jpg
Prince Fielder looks really cozy wearing his snowmobile suit under his uniform during Opening Day up in Minneapolis.  It could be a good year for them.  Just another 161 games to go to see how it ends up.

Went to Sinbad's Restaurant (http://mysinbads.com/) over on Park Ave. this weekend.  Pretty good food.  Probably the quickest food service we've ever received (including fast food places).  It was as if they knew we were coming and what we were going to order.  No pics though, sorry.  No pics of the other fun activities with our friends either.  What a slacker/not allowed.  You poor blog readers have been ripped off...
Hope everyone had a good Easter.

New Digs

 photo 100_6017_zpsd8c85b3e.jpg
Here's "Call Me Maebe," a newborn horse at Lollypop Farm.  She was less than 24 hours old when this was taken.  What a great event to have around the office!

 photo 100_6027_zps32a9aa28.jpg
Speaking of events, here's the new wall that went up in the lobby to protect visitors, staff, and volunteers from the construction.

 photo 100_6028_zps414b1bce.jpg
ATTENTION!  New cat sanctuary being built behind this wall!!!

 photo 100_6014_zps667638a8.jpg
It's been a long time since this office was this spotless.  Our old workspace will be a good space for others in the near future.

 photo 100_6013_zps8cad53a0.jpg
Goodbye old friend!

 photo 100_6029_zpsf54271c7.jpg
Hello new friend.  Here's my new workspace.  Still waiting for some new supplies to come in and complete the space.  But, it's shaping up and it's very exciting to see some of this renovation and expansion at Lollypop Farm come to completion!
That's all going on right now.  Been very, very busy lately with all kinds of projects.  So, it will be nice to watch some Modern Family (and possibly Lincoln) tonight.  Adios!

A Little Piggy Told Me We Reached Our Goal At Telethon

 photo 100_5987_zps89f455b7.jpg
Our goal was to raise $234,000 and we reached $236,654!  Thanks to all of the wonderful volunteers, staff, and friends of Lollypop Farm who made it possible!

Big donation on a big check.  I wish banks offered these as an option for check books.  I'd love to pay my bills and groceries with one of these.

Never underestimate the power of puppies to put a crowd into a trance!

Oh Tim, what a wonderful backhanded comment to your fellow retail team.  I always aim to be "not the worst ________" in all I do...

Petpalooza Dog Car!  I'll have to ask how much it cost to do this.  Something like this needs to be done to my ride.

Thanks Adrienne for providing me a website to look up Rochester graffiti at: http://wall-therapy.com.  This is "Bears" by ROA (http://unurth.com/filter/ROA) located at St. Paul Street and Pleasant Street.  Where...  Do...  I...  Begin...

That's it for now.  Off to see Book of Mormon (http://www.rbtl.org/).

Lollypop Farm Telethon 2013 Today!

 photo 2telethon_2013_live_from__zps2d0c4954.jpg
Join us as we celebrate our 17th year of Lollypop Farm’s Telethon, our largest fundraising event for homeless and abused animals in our community. This annual animal extravaganza will be broadcast live from Eastview Mall on 13 WHAM-TV, Rochester's CW, and 13wham.com from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m.. - See more at: http://www.lollypop.org/site/c.clKUI9OQIoJcH/b.8484615/k.352D/Telethon_2013.htm#sthash.RlryD2Lq.dpuf

The six-hour broadcast will showcase the diverse and meaningful work Lollypop Farm performs each and every day. Celebrate our far-reaching community programs, successful adoptions and hear stories of some of the special animals that have touched our lives.
Your support is critical! All funds raised help Lollypop Farm care for homeless and abused pets and continue to bring valuable services—including humane education, cruelty investigations, and much more—to the Rochester community.
Make a difference in the lives of homeless animals with your Telethon donation. Remember—every dollar raised stays in the Rochester community and helps change a pet's life for the better. See how your donation is put to work:
$25 = Spay/Neuter one animal
$50 = Purchases surgical instrument trays
$100 = Purchases animal capture gloves
$200 = Purchases a veterinary heating pad
$500 = Allows for surgical and rehabilitation of one animal cruelty victim

Master of the House... Doling Out the Charm

Photobucket
"Are you going to eat all of that?"

Photobucket
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!"

Photobucket
Please check the recycling before placing it at the curb.

Photobucket
Checking out the Mexican restaurant, Itacate, at the end of our street.  I have to say, great location.
Photobucket

Some kind of pork thing.  Don't remember what, but it was good.  I had a burrito that hit the spot.  A nice way to start a date before watching Les Misérables, which was pretty good even if Megan didn't care for Russell Crowe.

Photobucket
St. Joseph Church ruins in downtown Rochester.  The facade was preserved after a massive fire.  It's one of my favorite buildings in the region.  Something unique and saving a piece of local history.

Photobucket
From preserving the past to promoting the future.  The ground has broke on the new Regional Transit Service (RTS) Transit Center and will open in 2015.  A way better land use for downtown than a black tar desert surface parking lot that it replaced.

Master of the house, keeper of the zoo
Ready to relieve 'em of a sou or two
Watering the wine, making up the weight
Pickin' up their knick-knacks when they can't see straight
Everybody loves a landlord
Everybody's bosom friendI do whatever pleases
Jesus! Won't I bleed 'em in the end!

"So, that's the song George Costanza sings in that episode of Seinfeld..."

Sleepy... So Very Sleepy...

Photobucket
Feeling like this guy lately.  I think I've been battling a cold that everyone's been getting, which is better than the flu.  Anyway, it seems our house is becoming the house of weird cookie jars.  And yet, we never have cookies...

Photobucket
Bad ass motorcycle gang member made of shells!

Photobucket
SANTASAURUS REX!  Saw this guy on our walk through East Rochester last week.

Photobucket
It's amazing walking through work these days because doors and hallways just magically appear out of nowhere. This one leads to the new clinic

Photobucket
My coworkers daughter makes all sorts of creative desserts.  Here's a teddy graham fishing swedish fish.

Photobucket

"I KNOW YOU!  HELP!  I DON'T BELONG IN THIS OFFICE!"  Congrats to Karen on her new job even if Chance seems really confused on top of your desk.

That's it.  Nothing much happening lately and I'll probably rest a lot on the long weekend.  Some football tomorrow.

Movers and Shakers

Photobucket
This is the look of a sad little girl who's husband won't let her move into her new house earlier than planned.

Photobucket
Almost all of our junk fits into the living room.  And moving is the best way to fight post-Thanksgiving turkey coma

Photobucket
Everything has a place and every place has a thing (except the 2nd floor, which is vacant)

So, for those of you that really want to know, our new address is:

41 Woodside Dr
Rochester, NY 14526

Photobucket

We'll be moving soon at Lollypop Farm too!  This is the exterior of the new clinic with siding and all.

Photobucket
There will be lots of happy cats looking out these windows soon

Photobucket
Cats-eye view

Photobucket
Nice masonry!

Photobucket
For all you HVAC and other system fans out there...

Photobucket
Interior of the new training center.  Quite a vast expanse!

Photobucket
The walls about to go in the new office space.  In front is open office space for desks and other equipment.  Offices on the left side.  Kitchenette straight ahead.  Bathrooms slightly to the right.  And the far right and back will be meeting rooms.  A lot of progress and it won't be long before it's all finished!

That's about it for now.  As things stand now, the next episode will be "how to fix insulation problems in your home."  Good thing it should be a nice, warm weekend...

A huge THANK YOU to a lot of people:
Terry Clar for letting us into every home in Monroe County and being patient with two idiot first-time home buyers.  To Bob Schreiber for teaching us about houses, all the running around, and generous support in trying to find a place to call "home."  To Megan's dad for storing our crap at his house for longer that we'd like to admit and so, so, so much, much more.  To Dave and Alison for working the morning shift of the move and moving the armoire into its final resting place (+ coffee).  Rich for letting these homeless bums squat at his place, move us in-and-out-out-and-in, and countless other ways big and small.  Erin brought the sugar high of Girl Scout Cookies and pop to finish out the move.  Marianne, who is pimping out our apartment (more on that later).  Mike Renahan for a couple great home inspections.  To Rachel for moving in a dining room table and breaking in Scrabble at our new house.  I'm sure I'm forgetting lots of people and apologize if I did.  THANK YOU!  THANK YOU!  THANK YOU!  None of this would have been possible without you!!!
